The lodge is situated 100km to the west of Kamanjab and 25km east from Palmwag Lodge
The road from Windhoek to Kamanjab is tar, from Kamanjab to Grootberg Lodge the road is well-maintained gravel. The road from Palmwag is also gravel.
4×4 vehicles are allowed to drive up the plateau. Sedan or 2×4 vehicles have to park at the bottom parking area. The lodge will collect the guests upon arrival. Security is available 24/7 at the bottom parking area to look after the vehicles and ti arrange for pickups if necessary.
Rhino tracking, elephant excursions, Himba village visits, guided hiking and scenic drives on top of the plateau can all be taken from the lodge.
Children of all ages may participate on vehicle-bound activities under supervision of their parents. Rhino tracking activities and guided hikes on foot are available to children 12 years and older.
Due to the location of the village and to honour the arrangement between the conservancy and the Himba community, guests have to participate through Grootberg Lodge.
Camping is available at Hoada Campsite which is 25km east of the lodge or 75km west of Kamanjab on the way to Grootberg Lodge.
Guests are welcome to visit the lodge and make use of the restaurant, bar and daily activities as long as availability allows for it.
Internet/Wi-Fi reception is excellent in the main area, restaurant and on the veranda.
