How far is the lodge from Kamanjab or Palmwag

The lodge is situated 100km to the west of Kamanjab and 25km east from Palmwag Lodge

What are the road conditions like to the lodge?

The road from Windhoek to Kamanjab is tar, from Kamanjab to Grootberg Lodge the road is well-maintained gravel. The road from Palmwag is also gravel.

Can we drive up the mountain with our vehicle

4×4 vehicles are allowed to drive up the plateau. Sedan or 2×4 vehicles have to park at the bottom parking area. The lodge will collect the guests upon arrival. Security is available 24/7 at the bottom parking area to look after the vehicles and ti arrange for pickups if necessary.

What activities are offered at the lodge?

Rhino tracking, elephant excursions, Himba village visits, guided hiking and scenic drives on top of the plateau can all be taken from the lodge.

Can children participate on all activities?

Children of all ages may participate on vehicle-bound activities under supervision of their parents. Rhino tracking activities and guided hikes on foot are available to children 12 years and older.

Is there camping available at the lodge?

Camping is available at Hoada Campsite which is 25km east of the lodge or 75km west of Kamanjab on the way to Grootberg Lodge.

Can we make use of the facilities at the lodge while camping at Hoada Campsite?

No, unfortunately the activities and restaurant services are only available to lodge guests.

Are there internet facilities at Grootberg Lodge?

Internet/Wi-Fi reception is excellent in the main area, restaurant and on the veranda.
